Roddy Caxton-Spencer

Roddy has been a Director of Besso Limited since 1997 and jointly runs the International Division.  He is also Executive Director of Besso Group, Chairman and CEO of Overseas Operations and as at July 2015, Deputy Chairman of Besso Limited.

After starting as a Broker at Alexander Howden in their Jewellers Block and Bullion Division in 1978, he then moved to Hartley Cooper in 1982 as a Divisional Director in the International Department specialising in Fine Art and Specie. He left what was then Gibbs Hartley Cooper in 1985 to join Bain Clarkson to head up their Fine Art and Specie Division.  From 1995 to 1997 Roddy worked for Blackwell Green, which was subsequently acquired by Lowndes Lambert.

He currently holds the following other positions: Chairman for the Arts 4 Dementia Trust, Member of the Board and the Council of the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry Member of the Court of Assistants of the Worshipful Company of Arts Scholars.

Roddy has participated in a lot of extreme sports amongst which are several Arctic Expeditions, the Marathon de Sables, the Mount Everest North Face and the Global Yacht Challenge.
